amiciSmart APP Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21-Jul-2026
Last updated: 21-Jul-2026

This Privacy Policy explains how **Amicikart Online Services Private Limited**
("amiciKart", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your
information when you use the **amiciSmart** mobile application and the connected
amiciSmart / amiciTech smart-home devices and cloud services (together, the
"Service").

This policy is specific to the amiciSmart app and connected devices. It is
separate from the privacy policy for our website, amicikart.com.

By creating an amiciSmart account and using the Service, you agree to this
Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who we are

Amicikart Online Services Private Limited
Registered office: B-36, Sector-57, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201301, India
Contact: care@amicikart.com

We are the data fiduciary/controller responsible for the personal data processed
through the amiciSmart app.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run your smart home. Specifically:

a) Account and identity information

Mobile number and/or email address — used to sign you in (we send a
  one-time password / OTP by SMS, WhatsApp or email) and to identify your account.
Name — optional, for personalising the app and showing home members.
Family/home members — if you invite others to your home, we store the
  mobile number or email you use to invite them and their role in that home.

b) Home and device information

- Homes, rooms and layout you create (names, room types, and an optional floor-plan arrangement).
- Devices you pair — device names, type, configuration, and a hardware identifier (for example, the device's MAC address) used to link the device to your account.
- Device state and activity — for example whether a light or switch is on or off, brightness/settings, sensor events (such as motion or door open/close), and energy/usage readings, so the app can show live status, history and automations.
- Scenes, automations and routines you configure, including optional daily
  routine times (such as your usual sleep or leaving-home time) used to suggest
  automations. Providing routine times is optional.

c) Location information

- Approximate and precise location, collected **only while you are using the
  app (foreground)**, for two purposes:
  1. Discovering and pairing nearby amiciSmart devices over Bluetooth — Android
     requires location permission for Bluetooth scanning; and
  2. A one-time "use my current location" option to help you set your home's
     address on a map.
- We do not collect location in the background, and we do **not** track your
  location or use geofencing. Location permission is optional; the app works
  without it (you can pair devices and enter your address manually).

d) Bluetooth and Wi-Fi setup information

- We use Bluetooth to find and set up your nearby devices.
- During setup, you may enter your Wi-Fi network name and password so the device can join your network. Wi-Fi credentials are used to configure the device and are stored only on your phone (in the device's secure storage, and optionally remembered locally so you don't retype them). You can clear saved Wi-Fi passwords at any time from the app's settings.

e) Notifications

- Push notification token (from Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you alerts such as device events, security/support requests and account notices. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.

f) Support and consent records
- When you ask for help, our support staff can be granted time-limited,
  consent-based access to your home only after you explicitly approve it in the
  app or via a secure link. We keep an audit record of such requests, approvals
  and actions.

g) Technical and diagnostic information

- Basic technical data needed to operate the Service, such as app version,   device platform, and network/connection information (including IP address used to reach our servers), and error/diagnostic logs to keep the app reliable.

Information stored only on your device: Some information stays on your phone and is not sent to us, including your App Lock preference (fingerprint / face / screen-lock setting) and any saved Wi-Fi passwords.

We do not knowingly collect payment card details through the amiciSmart app, and we do not ask for government identifiers in the app.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:
- create and secure your account and sign you in (OTP verification);
- let you control your devices, view live status and history, and run scenes and   automations;
- set up and connect your devices to your home network;
- send you notifications you have enabled (device alerts, support requests,  account notices);
- provide customer support, including consent-based troubleshooting access;
- suggest automations based on your setup and optional routine times;
- keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, diagnose problems, and
  improve reliability; and
- comply with applicable law.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for
third-party advertising.

4. Legal basis and consent

We process your personal data with your consent (given when you create an account and use features such as location or notifications) and as necessary to provide the Service you have requested, to meet our legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in keeping the Service secure and reliable, consistent with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder. You may withdraw consent at any time (see "Your rights" below); some features may stop working if you do.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your data. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

- Service providers / processors who host and deliver the Service on our
  behalf, under confidentiality and data-protection obligations:
  - Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting, device (IoT) connectivity and
    storage, hosted in the Mumbai, India (ap-south-1) region;
  - Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of push notifications;
  - OTP and messaging providers used to deliver your one-time codes and
    alerts — our SMS provider (MSG91), the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta) for WhatsApp
    messages, and Microsoft 365 for email.
- Other members of your home — information about shared homes and devices is
  visible to the members you invite, according to their role.
- Legal and safety — if required by law, court order, or to protect the
  rights, safety and security of our users, the public, or amiciKart.
- Business transfers — if amiciKart is involved in a merger, acquisition or
  asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction,
  subject to this policy.

6. Where your data is stored

Your amiciSmart data is stored and processed on cloud infrastructure located in
**India (AWS Mumbai region)**. Some processors (for example, for push notification or messaging delivery) may process limited data outside India (US); where that happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to
provide the Service. When you delete a device, its cloud records are automatically removed. When you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we delete or anonymise your personal data unless we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

8. Your rights and choices

You can:
- Access and correct your profile information in the app;
Add or change your login mobile number or email (verified by OTP);
- Delete a device (which removes its cloud records) or **delete a home** you
  own, from within the app;
- Manage permissions — turn location, Bluetooth or notifications on or off in
  your device settings;
- Clear saved Wi-Fi passwords from the app's settings;
- Withdraw consent for optional processing; and
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, or exercise
  any other right available to you under applicable law, by contacting us at
  care@amicikart.com.

We will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable
law.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the app, our servers and your devices, authenticated connections for devices, and access controls and audit logging for support access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and continuously improve our safeguards.

10. Children

The amiciSmart app is intended for adults (18 years or older) who own or manage a home. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

12. Contact us / Grievance Officer

policy, contact:
